Highland 1st XV Captain Stuart MacDonald has called on his players to be relentless defenders as Davie Carson's men travel to Poynder to challenge the Borderers in National League 1.
"Kelso were on the wrong end of the scoreline away to Cartha last week, we know that won't happen again and they'll be fired up and looking to get their first win of the season in front of a vocal home crowd."
"Defence is key for us" continued MacDonald.
"The Coaching team have themed this week's training around defence. We've kept off contact but the coaches have given the players real clarity in how we understand and implement our defensive identity. Defence is part of our DNA, if we can concentrate on that and getting our heads and prep right, the attack will take care of itself!
MacDonald leads the team from 8 in a team which has made some but not a lot of changes.
Andrew Findlater is sidelined for the long term with ligament damage. Vice Captain Seamus Ross has been given a week to ease a hamstring strain. Gordon Gregor is a week away after recovering from ligament damage to his finger.
Robin Eatough, Rupeni Rockoduguni and Jese Koroitubuna are expected to return to training next week for the visit of Heriot's Blues.
